JERRIFEST- Annual Dinner & Auction

About Jerri

One of the very best things about living in the Dufur community is the continued support and dedication to the students and faculty of the Dufur School District. For 25 years there has been one event that demonstrates this commitment like no other, The Jerri Walker DePriest Memorial Endowment Fund Dinner and Auction.

Jerri Walker was a graduate of Dufur High School, marrying her high school sweetheart Harold DePriest and raising three children in the community that she loved. A fixture at Kramer’s Market and best described by her brother as a “cheerleader in life,” Jerri’s smiling face greeted everyone equally, always making sure she helped get your groceries to your car even as she continued to receive her grueling treatment for cancer.

In 1995, after 18 tumultuous years, Jerri Walker DePriest lost her battle and succumbed to the illness she bravely fought. Just as Jerri was committed to the very best of this community, her friends and family made a promise to her that her legacy of support, love, and encouragement would live on and established the Jerri Walker DePriest Memorial Endowment Fund with the goal of supporting all graduates of Dufur High School with scholarship funds for continuing education. This fund has grown and evolved over the years and has become one of the most valuable investments for the future of our students.
